Millbrook Wins Environmental Business Award
Millbrook Printing Company recently announced that it has been awarded the Michigan Audubon Society's 2006 Environmental Business Award. The Michigan Audubon Society (MAS) honored Millbrook for its "commitment to environmentally sound printing practices."
“We are honored to receive an award from an organization with such high standards as The Michigan Audubon Society. As a charter member of the Michigan Great Printers Project we recognize the importance of environmental stewardship.” said Larry Winkler, CEO and president of Millbrook.
Michigan Audubon Society (MAS), Michigan's oldest conservation organization, was established in 1904 and became a chapter of National Audubon Society in 1972. MAS has worked through the years to study and preserve wild birds, plants, animals and their habitats and to enlighten the public of their importance.
The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality administers the Michigan Great Printers Project. Through pollution prevention, printers are able to reduce production costs through more efficient use of raw materials, thus generating less waste and the need for disposal.
