The following instructions are for creating high-resolution PDFs. To create low-resolution PDFs for web/email proofing, change your compression settings to 72 dpi, or use the screen_mil_1.0.2 setting. To download our Distiller settings click here for Mac, or here for Windows.

How to create PDFs in OSX 10.4 using…
...QuarkXPress 7.x
1. Prepare Output Styles
a. Download and unzip the QuarkXPress 7.x output styles.
b. From within Quark 7.x, choose [Output Styles...] from the [Edit] menu.
c. Click the [Import] button.
d. Choose an output styles that was previously unzipped.
e. Repeat these steps (from step c) until all styles have been imported.
2. Choose the [File > Export > Layout as PDF...] menu item.
3. Set the desired filename in the [Export as PDF] text box.
4. Set the desired PDF style in the [PDF Style] drop down box.
5. Click the [Save] button.
